Who is Ria?

'Balancing a life dedicated to training 1000 therapists, giving worldwide teachings and seminars and establishing a foundation after a heart wrenching trip to some of Africas poorest regions, Ria panen Godesberg's life is a full expression of the love that is at the very core of her being.
Being with Ria is experiencing this all encompassing love. The expression of this love has the potential to be the next great evolutionary shift for the human race, based on the individuality that as a race we have struggled so hard to achieve, and guide us through the vast challenges that we are already facing as human beings.
Ria wants to awaken this love in all human beings and it is through this love that a capacity is created for profound intimacy between the men and women, who are standing in their deepest selves. To experience this love is to be transformed, and for this transformation to be established we have to live it.
In order to change on a deep level we have to see where we are now and what we are expressing and doing. Ria's function as a teacher is to act as a mirror and to show us exactly where we are now, and the love that is possible in our lives.

To establish this love in our lives is a lifelong daily practice of presence.

Ria will show how to see and go beyond our conditioning, fixed ideas, concepts and opinions; and will show us how to physically and volitionally shift our consciousness from our minds to our hearts and open the door to true transformation and the compelling and vital meaning and purpose of our lives.'

Opinions and Michael Jackson

Every body seems to have an opinion about Michael Jackson. They don’t know him though. So many people have a negative opinion about Michael Jackson. Do they know him? No, yet with all the press has been spitting into the world, they find that he must be bad. And that is it.
Now it would be interesting to see what happens if all those people would watch “that is it”. Because “that is it” is the title of the film made out of clips of the rehearsals of Michaels last tour that he never went on as death interrupted.

I showed this film to people who were not very interested; they were spiritual people and had more important things in mind as to spend time watching this movie. They rather engaged in difficult spiritual conversations with me…JL
Yet I found it important for them to see and fortunately they know I would never manipulate so I could convince them after a while.

So they watched this film and… what happened? They loved it, they loved him, The Man, Michael Jackson… they saw who he was and… don’t forget, he sang songs like “change the world, make it a better place”, or “I’m talking to the man in the mirror, I’m asking him to change his ways..” or “they don’t really care about us” and several more, that want to point out that we have to take responsibility as “they”, government, army, police etc. will not do it for us.

So please, do me a favour, if you have not seen the film, get the dvd and watch it and then, or even before, act as to make this world into a better place for all…

By the way, on the way you might try to let go of prejudices that are not based on your own, solid, experience…

Thank you,
With Love, Ria

The meaning of the title: Wake up, your life is waiting!

This title was serious business when I started this blog. Yet now the meaning is deepening every day.
Do you realize how much we know of how our world is going; what’s going on; all the mishaps that are happening so “comfortably” every day and that we keep on doing hundreds of bad things with such “natural” ignorance as if this daily doing wrong were not important at all.

How do you really feel about this? Isn’t it appalling to see that we HAVE the awareness, even the consciousness, but don’t act upon it?

You want to know why I come with this now, and not earlier?
That is a bit of a story. I will start with telling you that I started very young with the wish to serve (and help) humanity because I saw so many things going wrong; some because people didn’t know what they were actually doing, others done in total awareness and yet without enough care as to try differently. Many times this has caused in me a great disappointment in humanity. But instead of throwing the towel I threw the glove. Because I can, we all can, make a change!
Now I have just come back from my journey to Kenya. It has been very impressive to see how poor and primitive this country is with so little knowledge, the majority of the population sad, scared, unhappy and in great need, and living amongst rubbish and dirt.

They don’t have the awareness, nor the knowledge of doing it differently. We DO!! They are willing to learn, yearning to learn, to be able to go to school, to provide water that is somehow drinkable to their folks, but they don’t know where to start.

We have it all and are turning into selfish, self-centred little ego-trippers, stingy and with ugly thoughts. And we can’t care less about really doing work to make a change.
OK, I know, there are a few who do want to help and are doing their best, yet I see too many making a big fuss of someone making a mistake, not acting perfectly(to their standards), as they have expectation how that person should act, and spend hours talking, debating about it and emailing kilometres long texts instead of going for that which is really needed.
And this hit me while I was still in Kenya; this arrogance of the white, and the lack of real care and love, yet the exuberance of self-righteousness and… laziness. Here everyone is soooo good in talking, writing etc. but acting?...

Sorry, this kind of article is maybe not what you expect of me, yet this is crude reality showing itself to me again and again.

As you might have read in my CV of the sasenyin.de website, about 35 years ago I did a project in Indonesia for abandoned and miss-built children. Often they were both. This has become a self-running project that over 25 years I don’t need to check any more. It is ongoing as the ones that grow 18 and find a job, pay 10% of their wages into the project to enable the next kids to enter and find a life. In those days doing that was just a matter of organisation, know-how and money. There was no bureaucracy.
This time I was in Kenya and for those who know me it will be clear that this was not meant to be a vacation. And of course it was not. I started a project here too. It is just at the very start. It will take a lot of will power, time, strength and help of everybody possible, and it can be a possibility for you to give more meaning to your life.

I will soon start a blog about this project with the same name (Wake up, your life is waiting), yet the title will be in Swahili, the main African language. The continence of the blog will first be in English, so please look out for it and give me your help and support. But don’t just write me an email with that you find it great, as I will need to spend much time on everything, old and new. Only if you want to actively engage, let me know and don’t hesitate.

STILLNESS IS THE WAY

Have you ever spent time, I mean really spending time, watching a baby looking at it's hands?
Have you ever watched your beloved partner while being deep asleep?
Did you ever go for a walk through the woods and smell the flora after a strong period of rain?
Did you ever tread snow early in the morning before anyone had even seen it?
Did you ever hold an old persons hand while she/he was leaving her/his body peacefully?
Did you ever sit near the sea and watch the sun slowly sinking into it and the sky develop its magnificent colours?

I really hope that you can answer "yes" to more than one question.

If you have, I hope that you have felt the stillness in these moments. The joy that they let you be part of; a joy that is not just a personal possessive joy, but a very real, for everybody achievable joy.

Nowadays life is very fast. It is colourful and loud, and many people seem to be in a hurry. When one asks them to sit down, they prefer to stand as they have no time. Yet somehow I always seem to feel that they don’t really get more done than if they would take some time for the niceties in life. The interesting thing is that time is not something we have or don’t have. Time is, or maybe time isn’t. But we cannot have it.

If we would listen, really listen to our inner voice, to other people, to the sounds of nature, and within all this loudness still find and even hear the stillness, our health would tremendously improve. Our life quality would rise immensely. We would feel more invigorated and strong to take on the tasks of everyday living. And what is more: we would even enjoy it all. And all of a sudden, we realise that of course there is time; time for everything we really find important. Our priorities change and our life flows. Just like that.

You don’t believe me?
Then take one of the above mentioned examples; I will even give you a few more:
Read the proverb that is printed at today's page of you diary out loud
Remember a beautiful name you have heard and say it several times to yourself
Put your nose deep into this flower whose scent you enjoy
Watch this old couple holding hands, loving each other
Watch the lambs wriggle their tails while drinking from their mother's milk

Enough? Ok, now just feel how you feel after and while doing this. Yeah, feel what you feel, that's right. Most people are not aware of what they are feeling. The lack of stillness causes this. And, do you feel still how good this is? Then tell yourself to remember this, as you notice the positive affect it has on you. And repeat it, or be adventurous and try out some of the other examples I have given to you. For to be happy STILLNESS IS THE WAY!!

With love,

Christmas

Christmas is a very important event in the year.

In spite of what many people say or do, they all find Christmas important in some way or another. Some simply because they are Christians and really want to celebrate the coming of the Christ as he saved our planet from dying. But others, because these days they feel lonelier than all other days in the year, as on the other days people are going their way, but at Christmas all of a sudden they try to make life as cosy as possible, spending it with their loved ones, whether family or friends. These lonely people might hate Christmas then, yet it is important to them as they develop such strong emotions about it.

Christmas is the time where thoughts of love and peace are more pronounced than ever.

I had an ”interesting” conversation with a woman in the supermarket the other day.

I wished everybody a very beautiful and merry Christmas, and she was not having it. She would be working and so for her it didn’t matter.

I told her that in her work she could spend some extra energy in making it loving. She said it was the 'cheapest' feast in the year, because now people think of love. They should think of love all year around.

Of course I agree in that.

But does that make it wrong that at Christmastime people seem to be more aware of this?

Be realistic, people are not loving all year around and the fact that they should be, does not make them loving!!

What ever we do, feel or want with this, the fact is that from the 15 of January onwards, or even earlier, their normal trot through life starts again, and they forget a lot about all those good intentions.

And then at some point in the year it is Christmas again, and there you go…. They remember that love and peace are very important values. They do their best again to bring this into practice.

This they do every year again, and again, and again. And that is wonderful! Because the fact that it is Christmas reminds them of the good they actually carry inside of themselves, and by doing this every year, this bit of practising, every year they augment their own capacity of love and peace, which means that gradually they take bits of this into their daily life. Every year a bit more, every year a bit more convinced, every year a bit stronger. Because we humans tend to want to do things “more” each time, as if we were in a competition; a competition with ourselves.

Then we see all these charity fund rising happenings going on just before and during

Christmas. People simply are more generous during this time of year.

Is that bad? I feel, that if at any other time they would not want to even think about a child with leukaemia, or a woman stoned to death in Africa, or homeless children in Tibet, to mention some examples, yet they are willing to face these truths now, during this period of year, and are willing to help whether with money or material or whatever they do, that that is great. For better late than never… or?

Who are you anyway, that “you” that feels you are allowed to judge what is so right and so wrong? Have you discovered all aspects? Is your conscience really clean? Do you know all the backgrounds of all and everything?

You know what I really feel? That being grateful, being tolerant, is really wonderful. And that to me seems like wisdom. But condemning to me feels wrong. One can express one’s emotions, but… fill in yourself. For even here I feel I am not allowed to continue, except within myself.

Happy New Year to you all!!! In Love, Ria

I am sorry

I am very sorry to have waited so long with writing.

Fortunately I can say I am well, my neck is a lot more stable.
In the end it was all worse than it first was diagnosed; my 1st. 5th and 6th vertebra were broken over the length and the 4th partly.

It was very painful till now, but today is the first day I have a feeling that the pain is decreasing and so there is more hope of total healing.

Soon I will be able to write more interesting posts again about the most diverse themes. At the moment all I can say is: go into Utube, look under Ria Panen Godesberg and look at the various themes I talk about in the interview; especially the ones that interest you most, and at the same time you can get to know me better.

Nevertheless the themes I will talk about in this blog will be very different from the ones in the interview. Some very down to earth, taken from life. To think about; possibly a beacon. That is up to each person.

Do know though, each of us is responsible for all we do, even in thought. Not the government etc are to blame... it starts at each individual!!

lots of Love, Ria

It's hard

It is hard to notice that, when one tries to do everything right; to stay quiet; to embrace and investigate every detail of one's illness and then all of a sudden.... one slips and the 6th vertebra is broken again.
That is what happened to me the 4th day of being back home on Ibiza. And as if it were not enough: the next day, I was sitting on a wicker chair, my hair hanging over the back lean, a friend of mine wants to kiss me by way of greeting and leans with his hand on my hair (the back of the chair) with which he jerks my head backwards and breaks my first vertebra again.
That was hard.
Really hard.
And after that my traumatologist says that it will take at least 6 months before I will be able to let go of my neck-collar and sling; that this takes long to heal.
Here I had to swallow and the first few days I did a lot of crying. It was a struggle to not become depressed.
But I did not get depressed. I paint and paint and prepare myself inside for my new life, in which I will show the world all (I hope, is my intention) what I am and can do.
Soon you will find the interview that Cynthia and Pete Bampton did with me, on this blog, so that you can get to know me better. At least there will be parts of the interview.
The video has been taken shortly after the second time of braking both my vertebras and I hope that you will be able to see what all is possible if one really goes for "it" and that what really matters....
With all my Love, Ria
